Happy Holidays

True Florida! Caught this man jogging over the intracoastal in a santa hat, en route to the Lake Worth holiday parade. You'd think it'd be itchy.

Can't believe how good the show at The Boca Museum of Art is. The museum itself has moved into swish new digs in Mizner Park. As a kid I took art classes at the museum when it was located in a tiny little old home on Palmetto Park Road.

Just a cool building in Lake Worth.

Can a bit of signage inspire pure hatred? This is the door at Funkey Nutz, a name so gross I feel uncomfortable just typing it. Apparently it's a comedy club. Sadly, it's in a space formerly occupied by Jan McArt's playhouse, a kitschy dinner theatre that I LOVED going to as a child. I was also in the pit orchestra there when I was twelve, for an ill-advised little show called Young Mozart. Personally, I love staying home and watching The Golden Girls, and imagine most people find Betty White preferable to crap comedy and bad fontage.

Wood Hands

Here's a quick painterly sketch of The Mister that I did last week. Bought a bunch of boards, having never painted on wood before. Discovered I quite like it.

Other Projects

Portrait Project

I'll be doing one portrait a day until I can't do one portrait a day anymore. Not allowed to spend more than an hour on each one.

Long Live Irony

This is my catch-all site - art projects, journalism, weird experiments, all founded in the general belief that irony is not dead, regardless of what Graydon Carter says.

Dress and Suit

A joint blog where me and the Mr. post our thoughts on fashion and design, and I chronicle my year of not shopping. (I've cheated once.)

The Portrait Gallery

The government has been all kinds of annoying when it comes to creating a respectable National Portrait Gallery of Canada. So we built one in our garage this summer!
